Juventus are reportedly looking for a life without Gonzalo Higuain as Andrea Pirlo has given the nod to terminate the contract of the Argentine. It is overdue that Juve are stamping out Higuain. Furthermore, Cristiano Ronaldo is not the player for the future while Paulo Dybala’s exit rumours have been surfacing lately. Hence the Old Lady should sign a nominal striker in the transfer window.
Who will replace Gonzalo Higuain?
1. Raul Jimenez
The Wolves striker had an eye-catching season, which eventually put him on the agenda of Real Madrid and Juventus. Jimenez racked up a total of 27 goals and 10 assists for the Wolves, who recently lost to Sevilla in the quarter-finals of Europa League. Although Jimenez hadn’t created better memories in his formative years, he is currently in the form of his lifetime. The chances are high for the 29-year-old to leave Molineux Stadium this season, and why not? Juventus can reap the rewards from his signing.
2. Arkadiusz Milik
Milik seems to be on his way out from Napoli – who have recently signed Victor Osimhen from Lille – with both Atletico Madrid and Juventus interested in him. The 26-year-old hasn’t bedded in at Stadio San Paolo ever since he joined the Partenopei from Ajax in 2016. Nonetheless, the Polish striker has sported his full potential whenever he was offered the chances. Juventus would be a better place for Milik to continue his development.
3. Duvan Zapata
The latest striker to get linked with the Bianconeri is the Atalanta frontman, Duvan Zapata. Andrea Pirlo, the new boss of the Old Lady, is reportedly interested in recruiting the Colombian striker, who is currently living the best years of his career. The 29-year old has amassed a total of 47 goals and 17 assists in the past two seasons for the Bergamo outfit and was influential in Gasperini’s Champions League run. The former Udinese man is understood to be available for €30m, and it is an absolute bargain considering his current form.
4. Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan is the most optimistic option at the moment for Juventus as he is willing to move to Turin. Suarez has reportedly faced the axe from Barcelona while Ronald Koeman has informed that the former Liverpool will not be in his plans. Suarez will be available for a relatively lesser fee and still has around two years left in his tank to play at the elite level.
5. Alvaro Morata
The Bianconeri manager Pirlo is said to be interested in reuniting with the Spanish striker Alvaro Morata. The Atletico Madrid striker had best memories with Juve when he played between 2014 and 2016. However, the 27-year-old underwent a spree of slump post the Juventus career – Real Madrid and Chelsea. Morata looks to have settled with Rojiblancos after permanently signing for them last summer. Juve have an obstacle in acquiring the services of Morata as Atletico would demand around €60m.
