Tottenham express interest in RB Salzburg striker Noah Okafor

Tottenham are in a three-way Premier League race alongside Arsenal and West Ham for the signing of Noah Okafor as he enters the final 12 months of his contract at Red Bull Salzburg.

Noah Okafor

Following a breakout season last term in which he netted 14 times in 34 games for Red Bull Salzburg, Noah Okafor, 22, has further enhanced his reputation by bagging 10 goals and five assists across 30 games this season. He also scored in the Champions League games against Chelsea and AC Milan, although RB Salzburg failed to qualify from the group stages and dropped into the Europa League.

Okafor’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2024, meaning Salzburg may be willing to sell him at the end of the season to get the best possible fee. Tottenham are reportedly keeping tabs on the Swiss striker ahead of a possible summer swoop but face competition from London rivals Arsenal and West Ham. Serie A sides AC Milan and Inter Milan also remain interested in the player.

Harry Kane to finally leave Tottenham?

Harry Kane is edging towards the final year of his contract at Tottenham this summer but the north London club are resolute to hold onto him and are hesitant to sell him to a domestic rival. Clubs such as Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have shown interest in Kane, but Spurs have set a mammoth £100m asking price in hope of deterring the clubs from moving for the English marksman.

Should he decide to leave, however, Spurs would be in desperate need of a new striker to lead their attack next season. With manager Antonio Conte’s future at the club uncertain and Spurs facing a battle to finish in the top four this season, there are chances of Kane finally bidding farewell to his boyhood club in the summer.

Tottenham eyeing a move for Noah Okafor

Replacing Kane would be mightily difficult for Tottenham given his proven quality and experience. If he doesn’t sign a new contract, the club will be forced to dip into the market for a new striker.

RB Salzburg’s Noah Okafor is among the strikers on the radar of Spurs. The 22-year-old remains a highly-rated talent across the continent and could be tempted by a move to Spurs. The Switzerland international can operate as a striker, as well as on the right and left flank, thus, making him an attractive attacking option.

A forward line of Okafor, Son and Richarlison could be an exciting one if Spurs pull off the signing of the Salzburg man, but Arsenal will no doubt have something to say about that come the summer.
