Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag has revealed that Donny van de Beek, Nicolas Tagliafico and Andre Onana could leave the club at the end of this season. Nonetheless, the trio had been attracting interests from Europe’s top clubs for a long time, with Ten Haag confirming that they might not feature in the Ajax shirt for another season.

Speaking about the aforementioned trio, Ten Hag said, (h/t Goal.com)

“The market value of players will be slightly depressed, but not much. Based on their performance and ambition, a number of our players also want to make the move abroad.

“Agreements have been made with Andre Onana, Donny van de Beek and Nicolas Tagliafico, but it remains to be seen whether the market is indeed breaking loose.

“For Onana and Van de Beek, another year of Ajax could certainly be an option, for Tagliafico it is slightly different because of his age.”

Let us take a look at what the future holds for the talented trio.

Donny van de Beek ( interested clubs: Manchester United, Real Madrid)

Following the departures of Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt last summer, it was Van de Beek who everyone believed to be next in the line. However, the talented Dutch midfielder decided to stay put at Amsterdam although several offers came knocking his door. Halfway through the 2019/20 season, It was reported that the 22-year-old had agreed to join the La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer. But it was only a matter of time before the pandemic dented the transfer talks, once again leaving Van de Beek’s future uncertain. Manchester United have expressed their interest recently in signing Van de Beek, giving a strong competition to the Los Blancos. But one thing remains for sure that the Dutch prodigy is too good to be a failure for whatever the club he chooses.

Nicolas Tagliafico (interested clubs: Chelsea)

Aged 27, Tagliafico is senior among the trio but has been pivotal in Ten Haag’s side for the past few seasons. Chelsea remains the only club to be interested in the Argentine at the moment, with Arsenal and Barcelona registering their interest in the past – a testimony to his importance. Tagliafico has also been regular for the Argentine national team for a while now, registering a total of 25 caps.

Andre Onana ( interested clubs: Chelsea, Tottenham, Barcelona)

Finally, it ends with the goalkeeper. Andre Onana, Ajax’s No.1 over the course, is another player being tipped to leave Eredivisie this summer, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Barcelona (his former youth club) circling. The 24-year-old has made a name for himself between the sticks, being deemed as one of the best young goalkeeping talents in the world right now. Chelsea could be a possible destination for Onana as they are looking out to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer. A move to his former club Barcelona looks implausible given that they have Marc-Andre ter Stegen at their disposal.
