Brighton’s approach to transfers has always been excellent, consistently displaying a knack for unearthing gems before selling on for a massive profit in the future. So many young talents have arrived at the Amex Stadium and left, elevating the Seagulls’ status in the Premier League in recent years. Now, the south coast club are preparing to make a splash on another talent.

Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson is reportedly considered a top target by Brighton, who have been keen on his signature for over a year and enquired about his potential availability in 2023.

Nelson, 24, has been a squad player at best for Arsenal over the last two campaigns. Despite Mikel Arteta promising more game time throughout the season, the winger has clocked just 182 minutes across 14 Premier League appearances thus far. Overall, he has made 23 appearances but most of them coming off the bench.

It is understood the former England Under-21 international is open to an exit as he seeks regular game time elsewhere, thereby, giving Brighton hope of completing a deal in the summer.

Reiss Nelson valued at £30million

Reiss Nelson finds himself at a crossroads in his career at Arsenal. The lack of game time and minor injuries have led to increasing speculations about his future. The wide forward is frustrated over his lack of minutes and the fact that he hasn’t started a Premier League game this season.

Brighton have contacted the 24-year-old’s entourage to persuade him to move to the Amex Stadium. The South Coast club’s recruitment team believe Nelson has untapped potential and can be another transfer masterstroke under manager Roberto de Zerbi, who has given plenty of opportunities to youngsters since last season.

Arsenal have slapped a £ 30 million price tag on the Englishman’s head as they need to raise funds to fulfil the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. It is clear that Nelson will not get opportunities at Arsenal and must move on to get his career back on track.

A move to Brighton should be ideal for his development as he will get chances to showcase his qualities and become a key player. The ex-England youth international can play many attacking roles and will provide a cutting edge to De Zerbi’s side they’ve been missing at some points this campaign.
