Juventus have completed the €82 million signature of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to reports in Italy.
Juventus and Ajax have made an agreement for Matthijs de Ligt, with the Italian club is ready to pay 70 million euros plus variables for the young Dutch defender, who had an impressive last season with Ajax.
19-year-old has attracted interest from the biggest European clubs, including Barcelona and Manchester City, but he has decided to join The Old Lady.
A few days ago, football agent, Raiola claimed: “Agreements have been made with Matthijs and it is up to Ajax how the club wants to deal with this” and announced that transfer of de Ligt was very close.
He will become the most expensive defender in the history of Serie A and sign a five-year deal at Juventus.
Matthijs de Ligt had a fantastic season with Ajax and reached the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, but they failed to reach the final.
Speaking about his future last week, de Ligt said: “I am very excited about what could happen in the near future. I am also trying to stay calm, though.
“I view this as a challenge — that is the most important thing.
“There are several options and I really want to pick the best one. Logically, one option is better than another.
“Life abroad could be difficult, but I am still an ordinary Dutch guy, I am no different to the others. Perhaps living abroad will be more intense for me.”
