It’s Official: FC Barcelona Sign Antoine Griezmann

FC Barcelona has announced that they completed the transfer of Antoine Griezmann from Atlético Madrid. Barca paid the 120 million euro buyout clause to release Griezmann from Atleti.

French international has already announced earlier that he will leave Atletico at the end of the season, when he sent the message to Atletico Madrid fans: “It has been five incredible years, thank you very much for everything, I carry you in my heart.”

Griezmann had been linked with Catalan club last year but he has decided to extend his contract with Los Colchoneros. 

Antoine Griezmann will sign a contract with his new club for the next five seasons, through to 30 June 2024, with a buyout clause of 800 million euros.

One of the most valuable football players in the world has started his career in the French club UF Maconnais and joined Real Sociedad 2005 where he spent 6 years. After that, he moved to Atletico Madrid for a fee of 30m euros.

In his career, Griezmann won the UEFA Europa League 2017–18, UEFA Super Cup 2018 and Spanish Cup (Supercopa de España) 2014.
