The English midfielder has emerged as a transfer target for Ligue 1 champions.
PSG are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham’s Dele Alli. The exit links of English midfielder have taken shape after he was excluded from the squad for the games against Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Southampton. Given Alli’s current stance, PSG are looking to recruit him on loan before the transfer window expires.
It has been added that Alli’s exclusion could be attributed towards the arrival of Gareth Bale, who Spurs signed from Real Madrid on loan. The Welshman is expected to attain the starter berth once he returns to full fitness, backed by Jose Mourinho.
However, Mourinho revealed the reason for dropping Alli for the last two games.
“The same way a squad is a puzzle and in the same way so is the bench. I cannot have three wingers and a No 10 and then no defender. Dele stayed out but probably Tuesday he will play. I want a balanced squad. He doesn’t have to be sacrificed.”
The Portuguese manager also gave an awkward reply when he was asked about the exit rumours of Alli.
“I’m not responsible for the market. I’m not able to answer your question on that. I can only say I left eight players behind training. They are a big group and Dele was among this group.
It will be a big surprise if Jose Mourinho leaves the 24-year-old behind as it was the same Portuguese gaffer who said that he would turn Alli into a complete player.
Alli has been an integral part of Spurs since joining them in 2015. The former Milton Keynes Dons man racked up 9 goals and 6 assists in all competitions last season where Spurs couldn’t make it to the top four of the Premier League table. Neither did they attain their place in European competitions.
Elsewhere, PSG would like to add attacking reinforcements and bring Alli for the exit-linked Julian Draxler. The German star is reportedly wanted by newly-promoted Leeds United.
Idrissa Gueye and Draxler have been deemed surplus to the requirements by Les Parisiens, who are reportedly looking to offload the duo to generate funds. Gueye was signed from Everton last summer while Draxler has been a Parisian for a while.
In addition, Mauro Icardi and Pablo Sarabia haven’t attained their status as starters owing to their inconsistency in form. The duo is down the pecking order of Thomas Tuchel, who prefers the trio of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.
