The 34-year-old has decided to return to Spain after a decade in the Premier League with Manchester City.
Real Sociedad confirmed on their official website that former Manchester City midfielder David Silva is the new member of the team.
Real Sociedad has reached an agreement with David Silva for the Canarian footballer to play for the Txuri Urdin team for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2022. They signed him on a free transfer since his contract with Manchester City has expired. David Silva will wear the number 21 shirt at the Anoeta Stadium.
David Silva has started his football career in Valencia while in 2010 he left the club and join Manchester City where he spent 10 seasons. Silva featured in Man City’s final Premier League appearance against Norwich City and made 436 appearances in an illustrious career for the Cityzens.
He won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups and three Community Shields during his time in a sky blue.
In the recent period, there were some transfer rumours that Silva will move to Serie A and join Lazio, but he decided to continue his career in Real Sociedad.
