FC Internazionale Milano announces on the official website that a contract has been agreed with Diego Godin that will run until 30 June 2022. He is expected to replace another former Atletico defender, Miranda.
On 2010 he moved from Villarreal to Atletico Madrid where he spent 9 years and during that period he won LaLiga 2013/2014, Copa del Rey 2012/13, Spanish Super Cup 2014, UEFA Europa League 2011/12 and 2017/18, UEFA Super Cup 2010, 2012 and 2018. The only club trophy he failed to win is the UEFA Champions League (runner-up 2013/14 and 2015/16). He played a total of 277 matches for Atleti in all competitions and managed to score 26 goals.
Diego Godin is the 4th acquisition for Inter Milan in the current transfer window after they completed transfers of Matteo Politano (US Sassuolo), Eddie Salcedo (Genoa) and Parma’s goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão.
