Dani Ceballos, the 23-year-old Real Madrid loanee produced what can only be described as a perfect full debut match in the Gunners outfit this weekend. The promising and talented Spaniard put in a stunning man-of-the-match performance with two assists to his name, helping Arsenal defeat Burnley 2:1, which now raises the question of how big of a role will Dani Ceballos play at the London outfit and could he become a key player for Unai Emery, as he looks to bring Arsenal back to their former glory.
Dani Ceballos joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Real Madrid in late June and it did not take him long to leave a mark in his new club. In round one of Premier League Ceballos came on in 64th minute as a replacement for Willock and while his team did not produce any more goals in the remaining minutes of the match, Ceballos got a chance to experience standing on the pitch as he team won their first match of the season. Dani Ceballos might not have put his name on the scoresheet that day, nonetheless, his work rate caught the attention of Emery, who decided to give the young midfielder a chance to prove himself against Burnley and the 23-yer old Spaniard did not fail to deliver.
A corner kick assists in 13th minute followed by a game-winning assist to Aubameyang in 64th minute was enough for Ceballos to produce a man-of-the-match performance, which he understandably was delighted with. When speaking to Arsenal.com, the Spaniard said:
“The most important thing in football is to win. When you have a great game and can help the team to get the victory, you feel satisfaction to know that you’re going home calmly and with the work done.”
“The truth is that for me it has been one of the most special days of my life.”
To which he added:
“I really want this year to truly demonstrate the football that I have inside. I have a lot of enthusiasm for this season and to be able to give a lot of joy to this club.”
Dani Ceballos Can Play on Two Positions
It is rather obvious Ceballos is determined to prove his worth in his new club and should he continue producing such results as he did against Burnley, Ceballos will without a doubt become a key player in Arsenal’s 2019/20 season. His incredible work rate and versatility in midfield also did not go unnoticed by the Arsenal boss, who praised the 23-year-old and his performance this weekend. Emery also revealed his future plans for Ceballos, who he believes can play either as 8 or as 10, giving the Arsenal plenty of options to implement the talented midfielder into his squad.
“With him, it’s about using his quality in the best position,” said Unai Emery.
What does the 2019/20 season have in store for Ceballos is anyone’s guess? He had one proper shot to prove himself and he did just that, nonetheless, the Premier League season is nowhere near finished, meaning the Spaniard will have plenty more opportunities to further impress and earn a permanent spot in the starting XI. One of the biggest tests, however, will come next Saturday, when Arsenal visits Liverpool where both sides will need to be on top of their game if they wish to walk away victorious.
