UEFA has decided to move the Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea to The Estádio do Dragão, the home of F.C. Porto.

The decision to move the final from Istanbul, because of virus-related lockdown, came after discussions between European football leaders and British government officials. An announcement of the move is set for Thursday.

There were some rumours the final will take place in London, but UEFA decided to choose Portugal as the site of the game for the second year in a row.

Estádio Dragão’s capacity of about 50,000 reduced to less than half, so City and Chelsea are expected to receive 6,000 tickets for their fans.

Meanwhile, The UEFA Referees Committee has announced that Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz will referee the 2021 UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea.

The final of the UEFA Champions League between Manchester City and Chelsea will take place in Porto on Saturday 29 May at 21:00 CET.
