This development comes on the heels of their interest in Marc Cucurella, although the latter deal hangs in the balance and may face an unfortunate collapse.

According to football correspondent David Ornstein, Manchester United’s pursuit of defensive reinforcements has taken an intriguing turn with their focus shifting towards the highly-regarded Spanish left-back, Sergio Reguilón. Negotiations between the two clubs have gained momentum, signalling the possibility of a swift conclusion ahead of the impending transfer Deadline Day. The 24-year-old Reguilón’s versatile capabilities and defensive prowess make him a formidable target for the Red Devils.

However, Manchester United’s pursuit of Marc Cucurella has encountered unexpected challenges, casting doubts on the feasibility of the deal. It now appears increasingly likely that Cucurella will remain with Chelsea, thwarting Manchester United’s aspirations to secure the services of the talented left-sided player.

As the transfer Deadline Day looms large on the horizon, with the cutoff date set for Friday, 1 September, the clock is ticking for all parties involved. The current date adds an element of urgency to these negotiations, adding an element of drama to the final hours of the transfer window.

Sergio Reguilón came back to Tottenham after one year loan at Atlético Madrid and it seems there’s no place for him in Ange Postecoglou’s plans for this season.

The intricate web of transfer dealings in the football world is known for its rapid shifts and last-minute surprises, and the scenarios surrounding Manchester United’s moves for both Sergio Reguilón and Marc Cucurella are no exception.
