The Rennes sensation has been linked with a move to Bernabeu.
Eduardo Camavinga is one of the hottest prospects in Europe at the moment with many of the top clubs – likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and so on – circling for his signature this summer.
Real Madrid are one of the clubs who have strongly invested their interest in the Ligue 1 prodigy, whom Rennes have affixed a price tag over €50m.
The Ligue 1 outfit’s former player Mario Malchio – also represented Chelsea – has now insisted Camavinga to join the Los Blancos.
Camavinga’s breakout season in France
Indeed, the 17-year-old broke into the scene with his impressive season in Ligue 1 this term, eventually turning the heads of Europe’s heavyweights. Breaking into the senior team in the final half of the 18/19 campaign, Camavinga has easily attained his starting berth this season thanks to his string of impressive displays. He has so far played 25 games in the French top flight this season, bagging three Man of the Match awards in the process – one for his stellar display against PSG at the start of the season.
Would Camavinga be a valuable addition to Los Blancos?
The French teenager generally thrives in deeper zones, operating mostly as a central midfielder as he doesn’t have the desired attributes to act as a single pivot; he would be better off as one of the double pivots.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are currently stacked up with midfielders – likes of Casemiro, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde and Martin Odegaard (on loan at Real Sociedad).
While thee Galacticos have found their replacement for Modric in Valverde and Odegaard as an advanced No.8; Casemiro looks untouchable at the moment as he is one of the revered central defensive midfielders in Europe, Camavinga’s only fight has to be with the German midfield general Kroos.
However, the 30-year-old, who has vowed his future to the Bernabeu outfit, is indubitably one of the best central midfielders in the world if not the best. This makes it quite difficult for Camavinga to attain the starter status if he makes his switch to the Spanish capital.
Nevertheless, Los Blancos can groom the French talent into one of the top players in the years to come as he possesses premature qualities.
Passing has been one of the strongest weapons for Camavinga this season – 39 average passes per game with a success percentage of 87. Besides, He has also averaged 2.5 long balls per game. The defensive index of Camavinga is far more attractive than his offensive one – averaging 4.5 tackles per games. Impressive for a player for his age.
A good ball-circulator while being handy in build-up play and making well-timed tackles – evident with his numbers, Camavinga is very much in the mould of Kroos. The French prodigy can become the future of Galacticos’ midfield if he steps up his game.
