Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze tops Manchester United’s list of targets

Manchester United have made the signing of Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze their primary target for the 2025 summer transfer window.

After splashing out close to £200m on five new arrivals this summer, the Mancunian giants are planning another spending spree next year to continue rebuilding their squad. The acquisitions of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte and Sekou Kone have been made to help Erik ten Hag turn around the club’s fortunes following their worst Premier League finish in the 2023/24 campaign.

The Red Devils already have an eye on next summer’s transfer window and want to add four new players to their squad. And Eberechi Eze has reportedly emerged on the club’s radar after impressing for Crystal Palace in the last few seasons.

The 26-year-old, who recently broke into the England squad, was chased by several top Premier League clubs in the past summer transfer window. The creative left-winger ended the 2023/24 campaign with 11 goals and six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions, helping Crystal Palace finish 10th in the Premier League.

Eberechi Eze will see his release clause worth £68m reactivate next summer, providing Manchester United and other interested clubs with an opportunity to strike a deal for the England international and avoid intense negotiations with Crystal Palace and Steve Parish, who revealed earlier this month that he was greatly surprised by the lack of interest in his chief asset.

Man United keen on left-wing reinforcements

Ten Hag has four wingers following Jadon Sancho’s loan move to Chelsea. Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Antony didn’t pull up trees last season, with Man United struggling to score goals.

Rashford and Antony had extremely poor 2023/24 campaigns, with the latter going off the boil after his off-field issues. Amad spent the majority of the first half on the sidelines due to injury, and once he returned, Ten Hag handed the Ivorian sporadic starts. Alejandro Garnacho was the rare bright spark, enjoying his breakout campaign in the famous Red shirt.

INEOS are looking to improve the wing department by adding a Premier League-proven talent, and Eberechi Eze has supposedly caught their attention. Eze has now started his fifth season in a Palace shirt after joining from Queens Park Rangers in 2020. At 26, The Greenwich-born ace is entering the peak years of his career and would undoubtedly improve Man United’s attack with his creativity, flair, energy and goals.

All in all, signing Eze wouldn’t be an easy task as Man United will need to beat competition from several clubs to land him in 2025.
