The Lilywhites saw their undefeated streak come to a crashing halt in possibly their worst game of the season, succumbing to a 4-1 defeat against fellow Londoners Chelsea.

Similarly, Wolves experienced an ill-fated outing against bottom-most side Sheffield United, who registered their first win of the season.

Wolves vs Tottenham Match Preview

Wolves had seemingly turned their fortunes around after the victory against Manchester City, which followed an undefeated run of three games, including a win against Bournemouth and two draws against Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

However, their upward momentum took a severe hit with a shock defeat against the Blades away from home last week.

The Molineux outfit appeared to have saved their blushes after pulling off an equaliser in the final minutes of the normal, however, they conceded a penalty not long after in injury time, with the home side pouncing on it to pick up their first win of the season.

Moreover, the VAR’s call has sparked more criticism, with many believing that it shouldn’t be a penalty in the first place.

Gary O’Neil’s side missed their chance to get close to the top half of the table, with the defeat leaving them in the 14th place.

They will look to bounce back against Spurs, whose morale could have downed a bit after the heavy defeat against Chelsea.

Hwang Hee-Chan, who has transformed into a leading figure for Wolves this season, will also look to make his mark again this weekend. The South Korean attacker has already amassed six goals and two assists, including strikes against big teams like Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle.

As for Tottenham, when it rains it pours. From the red cards to Christian Romero and Destiny Udogie to the injuries to James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, the Lilywhites saw it all during their crumbling defeat to Chelsea.

However, Ange Postecoglou has less time to get hung up on the defeat and needs to return to winning ways quickly in order to keep their title push alive.

The absence of some of the key players could be a setback for the North Londoners, but they will be looking to capitalise on the available resources.

Wolves vs Tottenham Team News

Wolves will continue to be without Pedro Neto, Hugo Bueno and Joe Hodge, while Spurs have a long list of absentees.

Udogie and Romero will serve the suspension, while Van de Ven is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks.

However, Maddison’s injury is said to be not as serious as first thought and might make it to the squad against Wolves.

Ben Davies could also make his return to the squad after missing the Chelsea game with an ankle issue.

We Say: Wolves 1-1 Tottenham

Postecoglou will have his hand forced to make plenty of changes due to the absence of some of the prolific names, which could play into Wolves’ advantage. Furthermore, the West Midlands outfit have a fair better record against Spurs in recent times, winning two of their last three meetings.
