Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement for the signings of Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles. Cavani, who has been a free agent for a while, is said to have completed his medical ahead of his move to the Old Trafford.

The Uruguayan striker will sign a one-year contract with the Red Devils while there is an option for the extension for another year. Cavani has been in search of a new destination after being relieved of the duties from PSG. Atletico Madrid and Benfica turned out to be the closest suitors before Man Utd convinced him with their offer. The 33-year-old has been brought with a view to developing the youngsters at the current squad and he is also a favoured option for Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Man Utd have added a striker to the ranks despite having Odion Ighalo at their disposal. The Nigerian has recently extended his loan spell with United for this season.

In addition, United have also managed to agree on terms with Porto over the signing of left-back Alex Telles. The Brazilian has been long pursued by the Red Devils in recent weeks and they have finally made a breakthrough in the negotiations. United have reportedly convinced the Portuguese outfit with the offer of 15m euros plus 2m euros as add on. Telles will sign a four-year deal with an option to extend for another year.

The 27-year-old will bring competition for the current left-back Luke Shaw and it remains to be seen whether he could nail down a starting spot.

Man Utd are not done with the signing of the duo as they look to bring Ousmane Dembele to Old Trafford. The Barcelona winger has been identified as the alternative for Jadon Sancho.

However, Barca are steadfast on selling the French winger permanently whereas United want to buy him on a loan deal. Paul Pogba has also held talks with Dembele over a phone call to persuade his compatriot to join the Red Devils.

The Blaugrana are also relying on the sale of Dembele to bring Ronald Koeman’s preferred target Memphis Depay. Furthermore, Dembele has fallen down the pecking order of the Dutch manager at the Nou Camp.

It will be interesting to see how United would wind up the transfer window on Monday.
