Crystal Palace Facing Conor Gallagher Transfer Battle

Conor Gallagher is one of the hottest properties in the Premier League at the moment and it wouldn’t be unfair to say that he has been a revelation for Crystal Palace this season.

Having spent the campaign on loan from Chelsea, Gallagher has elevated his game to new heights, and he has become a fan favourite at Selhurst Park. The midfielder has given the Eagles more impetus in attack and he has this swagger about him that suggests he has been playing in England’s top flight for a long time.

Against Arsenal earlier this month, Gallagher was pulling the strings as the Gunners were blown away in a stunning 3-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.

A cursory glance at Gallagher’s stats shows just how important he has been to the Palace cause, as he has contributed eight goals and three assists in 26 appearances.

The transfer rumour mill is set to go into overdrive in the summer, and Gallagher could play a key role. While Palace would be eager to complete a permanent deal, Gallagher’s parent club, Chelsea, may look to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

And former Liverpool defender Luis Enrique has urged Jurgen Klopp to table a bid for Gallagher when the transfer window reopens.

He tweeted: “I will love Gallagher at LFC. What a player. Love his quality and intensity.

“It will fit perfect in Klopp’s style of play.”

More intriguingly, there have been rumours that have surfaced recently suggesting that Tottenham outcast Harry Winks is on Southampton and Palace’s radar. This would suggest that Patrick Vieira and Palace chiefs have a plan in place in the event Gallagher were to leave.

Generally, throughout the summer, the transfer window takes centre stage, and clubs are desperate to make some statement signings. Sometimes, deals go through late into the night, and on deadline day, there is usually drama as players can pull out at the eleventh hour and a move fails to go through.

Betting sites spark a lot of interest, and throughout the transfer window, bookmakers will run specials on whether players will stay or leave their club before a certain date, and you can get some tasty odds should you wish to place a wager. Many of these top sports betting sites are well versed when it comes to football, and they will usually have some of the best free bet codes which can be used for Premier League matches.

However, Gallagher has plenty to think about it in terms of his career. If he were to go back to Chelsea, and it failed to work out, then it would also hamper his chances of becoming an England regular.

Former Palace striker Carlton Cole reckons Gallagher is better off staying put.

He said: “For him personally, I’d just want to carry on playing, just carry on playing.

“I would stay at Palace. Whether it’s on loan for another year or you get bought. It depends on the scenario is. I just feel he needs to keep momentum and keep on playing.

“Now he’s got into the England setup by going away from Chelsea so it’s perfect for him, so it’s all set up for him.”

Gallagher has put plenty of smiles on the faces of Palace fans and he has lit up the Premier League in a way that few midfielders have managed to do so. As mentioned, he is at a critical juncture in his career, and whether he stays at Palace for another few years remains to be seen, but from a purely England perspective, we should savour his talent.
