Arsenal predicted lineup vs Tottenham

The Premier League returns on Saturday, as Arsenal host Tottenham in a much-awaited North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.

A point separates the Gunners at the summit of the Premier League from their rivals sitting in third. Mikel Arteta’s men beat Brentford 3-0 before the international break and will head into the derby in great spirits.

Tottenham, however, are right on their tail and went into the September hiatus on the back of a 6-2 win over Leicester City. Antonio Conte knows how important a win will be at the weekend as he takes his unbeaten side to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal have received a triple injury boost as Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey will be in the squad to face Tottenham, as confirmed by Mikel Arteta in his pre-match presser.

Martin Odegaard played in both of Norway’s fixtures after missing the last game against Brentford. A hamstring injury is set to keep Mohamed Elneny sidelined for a while longer while Emile Smith Rowe has undergone groin surgery that will keep him out of action until after the World Cup.

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs Tottenham (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Aaron Ramsdale has started every Premier League game so far this season and will continue to be between the sticks on Saturday.

Defence

In an expected 4-2-3-1 system, William Saliba will partner Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of the Arsenal defence. The centre-back duo have done well so far, but face an uphill prospect of stopping Harry Kane and co. at the Emirates Stadium.

Ben White will continue to get the nod ahead of Takehiro Tomiyasu at right-back, while Oleksandr Zinchenko’s availability sees him grab the left-back spot.

Midfield

The availability of Thomas Partey is a big boost, and the Ghanaian should form the double pivot with Granit Xhaka in central midfield. Both Partey and Xhaka have key roles to play with and without the ball for the Gunners against an elite counter-attacking Spurs side.

With Zinchenko more often than not moving from left-back to midfield to give Arsenal numerical supremacy, expect the hosts to dominate possession. Martin Odegaard is set to return to the first XI and will be tasked with providing creativity and energy from the No.10 role.

Attack

As for the offensive unit, with Arteta having all his attackers at his disposal barring Emile Smith Rowe, he is likely to pick his strongest front three. So, Gabriel Jesus will lead the attack, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli being the two wide players against Spurs.

Eddie Nketiah will again have to be content with a place on the bench.
