PSG are under immense pressure to perform following their 1-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund in Germany, however, there is no denying the fact that they have enough talent in their ranks to turn this Champions League tie around.

PSG

In the first leg, PSG were undone by a couple of strikes from the new football sensation that is Erling Braut Haaland, however, Neymar’s moment of brilliance earned them a much-needed goal that keeps their dreams of advancing into the next stage alive. The Brasilian star also came dangerously close to levelling the score, but saw his effort clipping the outside of the post, while Kylian Mbappe got denied twice by Burki.

It’s also worth noting that Neymar entered the match against Borussia straight after missing four fixtures due to a rib problem, which suggests he will be better prepared to cause some damage this Wednesday. All in all, although PSG lost the opening fixture at Westfalenstadion, the French squad looked fairly dangerous and tend to be much stronger on the home turf.

Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund will be counting on their young prodigy Haaland to continue his superb performances and help them seal the deal in France. The 19-yea-old turned into an overnight sensation, by becoming the first teenager to score 10 goals in the Champions League season, having previously scored eight goals for RB Salzburg in six games in Group E.

With Haaland, Sancho and the 17-year-old Reyna in great form, Dortmund have plenty of reasons to be optimistic heading into this match. However, while they have a very potent attack, the key to their success will be a solid defence. Unfortunately, past evidence suggests Borussia are not a very solid defensive team, which means they will struggle to keep PSG at bay in France.

Borussia already lost 1-3 to Barcelona and 0-2 to Inter during the UCL group stage, while last season they suffered 0-2 defeat against Atletico and lost 0 -3 against Tottenham at this stage of the tournament.

Despite the immense potential of Borussia’s youngsters, we are concerned with how well will they be able to defend their net. In the first leg, they were a bit lucky to walk away with a win and it’s hard to expect they will enjoy the same success here.
