Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness wants to bring Leroy Sane to the club as the final missing puzzle in his plan of making an all-German connection on the wings, however, Manchester City won’t let go of their young star for cheap.
With Ribery departure, Bayern Munich hope they can land the young German star Leroy Sane, who would be the perfect replacement in Uli Hoeness’ eyes. Boasting Serge Gnabry in the midfield, Bayern Munich believes adding Leroy Sane to the club would drastically improve the chemistry on the wings. The duo already proved before they have a fruitful partnership, on the international level, which Bayern Munich believe could translate into their club.
More times than not, such transfers have a hard time going through, simply because the team owning the young star is not ready to sell him. In Leroy Sane’s case, however, Pep Guardiola already gave the green light, with the winger no longer the preferred choice in the starting line-up of the Sky Blues. The speculations of Sane not being needed in the club are somewhat justified, as he has started only 9 league matches in 2019. That resulted in the contract negotiations between the club and Sane put to a halt, with his current contract expiring in 2021. Nonetheless, Manchester City are not prepared to let go of the young German winger for any less than €100 million.
The number asked by Manchester City is one of the problems stopping Bayern Munich from buying Sane, as they reported before, their budget is limited at €80 million, which is still €20 million short of reaching the demands. Still, we can be sure, Bayern Munich have enough funds to be flexible and increase the offered amount quite a bit. While money is not a huge issue, in this case, there is another problem that might end the negotiations.
Bild reported Leroy Sane wishes to stay at Manchester City and that he does not want to leave his club. While it has become clear Sane is not among the players Pep Guardiola needs in the starting line-up, Leroy Sane did not give up in his quest to persuade Guardiola in keeping him and even giving him a chance to prove himself in the starting XI.
Would Leroy Sane end up in Bayern Munich, he would without a doubt be the perfect addition for the German champions, who would accept the 23-year-old with open arms. He proved time and time again he is an incredible player, who excels in his position and is even capable of playing on both sides. Scoring 16 goals and adding 18 assists for Manchester City this season in all competitions, Leroy Sane’s future is still a big question. A player of such quality would be welcome in any club, and as it seems Bayern Munich would be prepared to do anything to bring him to their squad, however, seeing that his heart is in Manchester, the deal just might be hanging by a thread. There were even rumours from Manchester City players, who stated Sane will most likely stay with them, however, rumours are rumours, and we will never know for sure, until Sane signs a new contract with either Manchester City or Bayern Munich.
