Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear says Alan Shearer has rejected an offer to become a coach St James' Park.

thought he would have taken that. if he wants to be Toon manager some day, he needs to start somewhere, and a Newcastle coach is the obvious choice. jumping straight in at the deep end won't be clever.

i agree maybe his motd contract is more important and maybe he doesn't feel the ashley regieme is right for him, but if ashley could get him on side then maybe he would have a better relationship with the fans
